Cairns form the Stone Age, the grave of a Celtic prince and Roman sanctuaries provide evidence that the area around Sinsheim has been populated for several thousand years. Sinsheim was first mentioned in a document in the year 770. The city’s development began when it was granted the right to hold markets and mint coins in the year 1067. Today, Sinsheim is a centrally located major county seat with more than 34.700 residents. The city covers an area of 127 km² and with 80,000 people living in the greater metropolitan area.
