Friedrich der Große Museum (Frederick the Great Museum)
Sinsheim - Steinsfurt
The old Franconian farmstead of Lerchennest from the 17th century houses a special feature in the German Museum landscape: the only museum dedicated specially to Frederick the Great (1712-1786) recalls his attempt to escape, as an 18-year-old Crown Prince in the year 1730.
Visitors learn from extensive documentation interesting facts about the life and works of Frederick, as well as the reasons why he wanted to flee. In addition, cultural and historical themes are taken up by regular special exhibitions, while the adjoining rooms contain displays of agricultural equipment.
